18th-century France was a time of refinement and transformation. Beneath the elegant surface, new influences emerged: Italian virtuosity, Polish folk rhythms, and a freer, more emotionally charged expression. The program features works by the “trendsetters” of the Baroque - Couperin, Rameau, and Telemann - who stretch boundaries in a play between discreet elegance and lively innovation. The four members of Ensemble Pseudonym have all studied at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, and this concert is part of SEMF’s initiative The Next Generation.
