The rose - both fragile and powerful, protected by thorns yet forever returning in bloom - stands at the heart of this poetic Baroque program. Music by Collinelli, Caldara, Handel, Bononcini, and Ariosti reflects the ardor of love, the pain of loss, and the quiet strength of hope.
Together with the Spanish ensemble Gracia Barroca, the Uruguayan countertenor Leandro Marziotte, with his expressive voice, opens a garden of emotions. He combines a stylistically informed interpretation of the 17th- and 18th-century repertoire with a strong dramatic presence, allowing the rose to unfold in all its beauty and complexity.
