In 1736, the Paris Opera pulses with musical renewal. The anniversary festival opens with vibrant music from J. Ph. Rameau’s Les Indes galantes and Les Génies by Mademoiselle Duval - an opera by a female composer, rediscovered! Together, they reflect an era of exotic escapades, the supernatural, and dramatic power.
The renowned ensemble Il Caravaggio, under the direction of Camille Delaforge, is celebrated for its theatrical energy and virtuosic interpretations. The ensemble regularly appears on Europe’s major stages and is actively engaged in rediscovering forgotten music—not least by women composers.
