On Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday and the first day of spring, EARLY MUSIC SWEDEN offers LIGHT & SOUND – Baroque Voices from Schütz to Bach. The acclaimed German vocal ensemble CALMUS appears as guest artists, bringing their distinctive singing culture – warm, precise, and deeply attuned to the text – rooted in Leipzig’s rich choral tradition. Furthermore – the rarely heard lira da braccio, performed by the distinguished Jeanette Eriksson, creates bridges between Swedish folk music and the vocal Baroque repertoire through its singular timbre.
