Welcome to a village in 18th century Latin America where the local priest is just finishing a mass before all the villagers head to the square for a celebration! Song, rhythms, dance and joy permeate a theatrical concert that reflects the Indian, African and European traditions of the population.
Since 1995, Ensemble Villancico under the direction of Peter Pontvik has been spreading Early World Music from the Latin American Baroque era. With sparkling energy and first-class musical qualities, the ensemble has achieved world renown and a leading position in the genre.
