CALMUS & JEANETTE ERIKSSON: LIGHT & SOUND - Baroque Voices from Schütz to Bach

Happy Early Music Day! On Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday and the first day of spring, EARLY MUSIC SWEDEN offers LIGHT & SOUND - Baroque Voices from Schütz to Bach. The concert programme features evocative works by Heinrich Schütz, Johann Hermann Schein, and members of the Bach family, highlighting the profound connection between faith, text, and the art of composition in the early German Baroque.

The acclaimed vocal German ensemble CALMUS appears as guest artists, bringing their distinctive singing culture - warm, precise, and deeply attuned to the text - rooted in Leipzig’s rich choral tradition. The rarely heard lira da braccio, performed by the distinguished Jeanette Eriksson, creates bridges between Swedish folk music and the vocal Baroque repertoire through its unique timbre.
